THE ANT and MNT PROGRAMS
Pre-requisites before taking the Advanced Nail Technician Certification Modules: The student must be a licensed nail technician or cosmetologist or be attending a school to prepare for licensing.
Pre-requisites before taking the Medical Nail Technician Certification Modules: The student must be a licensed nail technician or cosmetologist and have accomplished the Advanced Nail Technician Certification before beginning the Medical Nail Technician Program.
The Modules in both programs vary in length. Some will take as few as 45 minutes, some as long as 2.5 hours. The time required for each student on each module and in taking the entire programs are defined by the speed a student learns and the student’s computer skills. For that reason, no estimate can be made in the time it takes to finish the entire programs.
Some topics are more intense and/or longer than others. ALL are important to the overall learning of the Programs.
Study Questions are placed at the end of topics throughout the modules. We suggest you take the time to copy and answer each question before moving on to the next Module as they aid you greatly in taking the exams.
Exams will be given after chosen groups of modules to reduce the complexity of studying; each exam will cover only the modules since th last exam. Students will be allowed two tries for passing each exam. The passing grade is 75% or above. Read the instructions carefully prior to opening the exam.

Internship
The Internship is five days or 40 hours in a podiatry office of a participating podiatrist. Students will be helped in finding a podistry office in their area willing to provide their Internship and Janet and Dr. Spalding will aid in the search. Many are listed on the westerilize.com site. Check there for one in your city.
The podiatrist will be provided a curriculum to be followed. Certain skills are learned, and the student gains experience working with the patients in the practice.
There is a cost for the Internship (see Tuition), though many podiatrists provide the Internship free for an MNT they intend to hire into their practice.
