Robert Spalding, DPM, has been treating patients for ten years who have developed foot problems that may have been caused by poor infection control in nail salons. Instead of condemning the technicians and industry, however, he began to train and advocate for good infection control practices. In doing so, he began to see the potential for having trained nail professionals in podiatry offices.

Dr. Spalding has developed the Medical Nail Technician Program that trains nail technicians to work effectively with advantageous skills in podiatry offices. Besides being trained as an assistant to work with at-risk patients, they can also bring non-insurance dollars into the practice. Even better!

If you, a podiatrist, are interested in discussing this program, please look at the PowerPoint presentation above, then call Dr. Spalding at 423-756-3668.
