School and Instructor Information

Do you need a new course to set your school’s nail technician program apart from your competition? A course to attract nail technicians and cosmetologists in your area to your school for continuing education?

Does your vocational school want to train a  program for nail technicians but does not have enough curriculum? Call Dr. Spalding to see how the Advanced Nail Technician Program can help you with this meeting this goal.

schoolbasedantThe Classroom-based Advanced Nail Technician (ANT) Certification Program can be offered in your school as a section in your nail technician licensing curriculum and/or as a Continuing Education course for licensed nail technicians/cosmetologists.

The Classroom-Based ANT Certification Program is specially designed for students who prefer the added support of an instructor and for those who want to have hands-on experience in performing safe nail services on clients with chronic conditions such as diabetics, circulatory conditions, lupus, lymphoma, etc.

This course is taught by Certified Medical Nail Technicians who wish to support their peer nail professionals in reaching their maximum capabilities and safety. The instructor must become an MNT to qualify as a teacher of the ANT. In most areas, only one School will be chosen, according to the population of the area.

The course track for a school and student is as follows:

Module 1 is one/the first day in your school to provide hands-on skill and aseptic training to the Nail Technician students that will support their Advanced Nail Technician Program.

Modules 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 are online and can be taken by the students at home, in school, at a library, anywhere the student wishes to take them. All modules must the confirmed as finished prior to attending the final Practical Experience Day.

Practical Experience Day brings the students back to the school to perform aseptic pedicures and to other skills important to demonstrating a knowledge of the techniques taught in the Advanced Nail Technician Program.  This day does not have to be in a full ANT class group; it can be performed on a clinic day.

Schools can add clinic days at their discretion to train the students in the pedicure protocols and to gain experience in the aseptic protocols and pedicure precautions.

The students take the ANT exam at the school on the Practical Experience Cay and, after passing, the school notifies Medinail Learning Center the student is eligible to be awarded a display-quality Certificate as an Advanced Nail Technician by Medinail Learning Center. The passing percentage is 75%; the student gets two tries to pass the exam. The exam is 100 questions, multiple choice.

The graduate of this course has completed the prerequisite for the Medical Nail Technician Program.

School needs for offering the Course:

Equipment: A computer with Internet hook-up, and  an Autoclave Sterilizer. Large classes will need a projector and screen.

Supplies: The student’s current supplies for performing natural nail courses are adequate as long as the implements are stainless steel. The school has the alternative of placing upgraded implements in a kit, can participate in direct sales of these implements, or can refer them elsewhere for purchase. A Kit will include stainless steel nippers, a package of disposable nail files and pedi-paddles or autoclavable nail and callus files, and a pedicure nail trimmer. A box of disposable gloves, masks, and a pair of protective eyewear must be available.

Text: The school can sell the book, The Science of Pedicures, or it can be purchased online from medinail.com. (It is now available for $19.95 as a download from Dr. Spalding’s site.) The Protocols for the Advanced Nail Technician download is free online after the student enters the course, as is the Beyond the Basics document. This information is not available to anyone except enrolled students.

Staff: A trainer is needed for the first and last day of the course. This instructor must become a Medical Nail Technician prior to the course being given by the school.

Financials: The school collects the fees and sends a contracted amount per student to Medinail Learning Center. A Sign Up Protocol for the courses is in place between the school and MLN. To discuss financials, please contact Janet at the email or telephone# below.

A teaching manual will be provided for the course instructor supporting the training for Day 1 at the school and the Practical Experience Day. It will also provide information on the use of the Internet for Day 1 and further appropriate information.

You will see the content of the course and why this course provides an entirely new level of professionalism for nail technicians by looking through this site. For further information email janet@medinails.com or call Janet at 863-273-9134.
