Who is an MNT?
The Medical Nail Technician™ (MNT) is trained to assist the physician in his/her podiatry practice as well as to perform cosmetic pedicures on patients in a licensed salon room; the MNT may perform only cosmetic pedicures in the office’s salon room. The physician will market the nail technician’s cosmetic services to the practice patients and may market to the public also.
With the MNT Certification, nail technicians have options. Many will work part time in a physician’s office and the rest of their time in a spa, salon or medspa performing safe pedicures; others will work full time in a medical office.
The office experience is a change of pace and a positive experience that broadens the technician’s overall knowledge of the industry he or she loves.
The Medical Nail Technician Program
The information portion of the MNT Program consists of ANT Modules 0-8 and MNT Modules 1-7. The tuition is $499 for all 12 modules (ANT-MNT Package).

An Internship of five days or 40 hours follows the MNT Online Information and exams, and must be experienced prior to the awarding of the Certification. MLN aids the future MNT in acquiring the Internship.
The Internship podiatrist is provided a Manual and a required skills list, called a Skills Log. (It is the responsibility of the student to request these for the Internship at Janet@medinails.com.) An Internship alternative is to complete it in Dr. Spalding’s office in Chattanooga, TN.
Again, the student is eligible for the MNT Certificate after taking the exam successfully and upon completion of the Internship.
The Medinail Certificate has a $5 fee and includes the displayable MNT certificate and a professional pin that can be worn in the office and to professional meetings to signify the person has completed the MNT program. The pin is similar to those nurses, dental hygienists and other professionals wear to signify their accomplishment.
One More Thing….
The graduate MNT will also receive Certification as a Podiatric Medical Assistant as the requirements and information for the PMA Program are included within the MNT program. This training raises the value of the MNT within the podiatric office and more readily prepares her to work with a podiatrist.
The cerificates and the pin are sent to the student after he/she passes the exams, after the papers are sent in to signify completion of an Internship and after the student sends his/her name as it is to appear on the certificates to Janet@medinails.com, along with the address to which it is to be sent. ![]()
